THE Commissioner for Financial Services, Financial Stability and Capital Markets Union K. Mairead Magines It ‘s in the Hellas from today until tomorrow, Thursday, May 30. Earlier in the morning, the Commissioner delivered a keynote address on the powerful role of capital markets in the economy’s transition towards more sustainable practices, as part of the Climate in the Center of Economy conference, which is being organized by the Capital Market Commission.
During the breakfast, the Commissioner also met with the President of the Belgian Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA), Mr. Jean Paul Servais, with the President of the Capital Market Commission, Ms. Vasiliki Lazarakou, and with the President of the Futures Transactions Committee US Merchandise Mr. Rostin Behnam. In the afternoon, the Commissioner will visit the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA), where she will hold discussions on cyber-resilience in the financial sector.
On Thursday, the Commissioner will visit the Bank of Greece to attend the joint presentation of the results of the European Investment Bank (EIB) survey for 2023 for Greece. During this visit, he will deliver a keynote address at the conference co-organized by the EIB and the Bank of Greece entitled “Transforming the Greek Economy for Competitiveness and Resilience”. In the afternoon, the Commissioner will meet with the Governor of the Bank of Greece, Mr. Giannis Stournaras.
