It is brought to Parliament by the Minister of National Economy and Finance the program of SYRIZA for the economy. In particular, Kostis Hatzidakis, in his letter to the Speaker of the Parliament Mr. Konstantinos Tassoulas, proposes to hold, in the context of the Economic Affairs Committee of the Parliament, a detailed discussion on the proposals of SYRIZA on accuracy and the Economy, as well as the consequences that these have in the public finances of the country.

Kostis Hatzidakis points out that the debate he proposes will be an opportunity to make a public assessment of these proposals and by representatives of the General Accounting Office of the State, in terms of their budgetary costs.

In more detail, Kostis Hatzidakis states in his letter:

“Dear Mr. President

In the last period, SYRIZA advanced two legislative proposals on accuracy and the Economy, and at the same time both its leadership and its executives referred to a series of proposals with a significant fiscal impact.

Therefore, we propose to carry out, within the Economic Affairs Committee of the Parliament, an analytical discussion on the proposals of SYRIZA, as well as the consequences they have on the public finances of the country. It will be an opportunity to make a public evaluation of these proposals and by representatives of the General Accounting Office of the State, in terms of their budgetary costs.

We propose that this discussion take the form of a direct dialogue between the representatives of the Ministry of National Economy and Finance and the President, as well as the competent officials of SYRIZA as well as the other parties, in order to draw the necessary conclusions regarding the proposals of the official opposition. In addition, in this way and the publicity entailed by the Parliamentary Committee meeting, the Greek people will be given the opportunity to be informed directly about the real cost of the measures proposed by the President of SYRIZA, Mr. Kasselakis”.
