Reduction of subsidized and registered unemployed in May DYPA data show.

The total number of registrants for the month of May 2024 has risen to 794,752 people, recording a decrease of -59,429 people (-7.0%) compared to the corresponding month of the previous year (May 2023) and a decrease of -76,562 people (-8.8%), compared to the previous month (April 2024).

The number of subsidized for the month of May 2024 amounted to 81,455 people registering a decrease of -36,142 people (-30.7%) compared to the corresponding month of the previous year (May 2023) and a decrease of -91,223 people (-52.8%) compared to the previous month (April).

  • Men amount to 266,469 people (33.5% rate) and women amount to 528,283 people (66.5% rate).
  • The 30-44 age group gathers the largest number of registrants among the age groups which amounts to 248,944 people (31.3%).
  • The Secondary education level gathers the largest number of registered among the educational levels which amounts to 375,641 people (percentage of 47.3%).

Among the Regions of the Country, the Region of Attica and the Region of Central Macedonia record the largest number of registered persons, which amounts to 272,849 people (percentage of 34.3%) and 161,105 persons (percentage of 20.3%) respectively.

The total number of subsidized unemployed people, for the month of May 2024, (refers to the number of beneficiaries who were paid within the corresponding month) amounts to 81,455 people, of which 70,574 (percentage 86.6%) are general unemployed and other categories of subsidized unemployed and 10,881 (13.4%) are seasonal tourist occupations. Men amount to 36,580 (percentage of 44.9%) and women to 44,875 (percentage of 55.1%).

Of the total number of subsidized unemployed people, 67,263 (82.6%) are general, 1,732 (2.1%) are builders, 10,881 (13.4%) are seasonal tourist workers, 1,268 (1.6%) are seasonal others (agricultural), 250 (percentage 0.3%) are teachers and 61 (percentage 0.1%) are others.
