The demand by the Ukrainian community in Brazil for Bolsonaro to adopt a more critical position in relation to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine received business support.
This Monday (28), a group of businessmen with businesses linked to the attacked country made a request for the government to abandon its position of neutrality.
Meeting at the Brazil-Ukraine Chamber of Industry, Commerce and Innovation, the group says that world trade relations will change as the conflict unfolds and that the situation is critical.
“Commercial relations cannot be prioritized when there is a violation of the integrity of a country and the lives of its inhabitants”, says the entity.
Bolsonaro, who even visited Russian President Vladimir Putin a week before the start of the war, on the grounds of promoting trade ties with Moscow, said this Sunday (27) that Brazil must remain neutral. He also said that it is necessary to have responsibility in business with Russia and that Brazil depends on fertilizers.
The head of the Ukrainian Embassy in Brazil, Anatoli Tkach, said Bolsonaro is misinformed.
