Meet the Brazilian family with 19 women on the Forbes billionaires list

Nineteen women from the same family in Santa Catarina are part of the latest list of billionaires from the American magazine Forbes. According to the publication, they are heirs to the company WEG, one of the largest manufacturers of electric motors in the world.

The company, the largest in its segment in Latin America, was founded by Werner Ricardo Voigt with billionaires Eggon João da Silva and Geraldo Werninghaus, both now deceased.

The publicly traded multinational has factories in more than ten countries, and revenue recorded in 2022 was around US$ 6 billion, equivalent to R$ 33 billion, at the current price.

The person who appears to be the richest member of the family is Anne Werninghaus, whose fortune is around R$6.96 billion. She is Geraldo’s granddaughter and the largest individual shareholder in the company.

Next are Dora Voigt de Assis, 26, and Livia Voigt, 19, the latter being the youngest on the list of billionaires published by Forbes. Werner’s granddaughters, they each have around R$5.5 billion in assets. Dora is an architect, and Livia is a psychology student.

The person who appears further down the list is Mariana Voigt Schwartz Gomes, 38, with a net worth estimated at almost R$5 billion. She is an entrepreneur in the interior design sector and inherited shares held by her mother.

Completing the list are the heiresses Mariana Werninghaus de Carvalho (R$4.04 billion), Luisa Werninghaus Bernoldi (R$3.48 billion), granddaughters of Geraldo Werninghaus, and Amelie Voigt Trejes (R$3.27 billion).
