Australian actor and director, Simon Bakerpleaded guilty to drink driving in a New South Wales (NSW) court. Baker was caught drink-driving on a road near his Byron Bay home in the early hours of July 20.

Although he did not appear in court, the BBC reports, court documents show the 55-year-old was only charged with drink driving, his first such offence.

The famous actor has starred in ‘Home and Away’, ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ and earned Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for his lead role in the American crime drama series ‘The Mentalist’.

After two decades in Hollywood, which earned him a Walk of Fame star, Baker returned to Australian film and television, directing and acting.

He was recently nominated for Best Actor at the Logies for his role in the hit Netflix series ‘Boy Swallows Universe’. The actor is due back in court on September 11 to face his sentence.
