OR Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE) completes yet another milestone in its strategic planning, proceeding with an organizational transformation of the Customs Administration, with the establishment of the Customs Control Centers (TEC) in Attica and Thessaloniki.

More specifically, by decision of the Governor of AADE, Giorgos Pitsilistwo new special decentralized services are established, the Attica Customs Control Center and the Thessaloniki Customs Control Center, with the aim of centralizing customs controls.

Giorgos Pitsilis emphasized:

“We are continuing our reform work and creating two new specialized services. The centralization of AADE’s customs control services, combined with the use of modern tools, ensure the transparency, acceleration and efficiency of customs controls, optimizing the services provided to citizens and businesses.”

Through the new Customs Control Centers:

– Centralized control is exercised during the customs process, in accordance with national and EU legislation, ensuring the public interest.

– Customs procedures are accelerated to facilitate trade and business, by automating formalities, prohibitions and restrictions on the movement of goods from third countries.

– New technologies are exploited through a centralized customs control system.

– Human resources are managed more efficiently.

The Attica Customs Control Center will operate on 16/12/2024, while the opening date of the Thessaloniki Customs Control Center will also be determined in the near future.
