Beijing aims to promote the ice and snow economy to emerge as a new economic growth area for the Chinese economy.
The central development goal is to achieve an activity with an economic scale of 1.2 trillion yuan (160 billion euros) by 2027, according to a circular issued by the General Affairs Bureau of China’s State Council.
By 2027, the ice infrastructure for snow-related sports activities will be more complete, while the level of services offered will have improved significantly. Ice and snow sports will have been sufficiently spread, while China’s international competitiveness in the mentioned sports will have been further strengthened, according to the provisions of the same circular.
By 2030, the role of the ice and snow economy in expanding employment and promoting high-quality economic development will become even more important, the provision of services related to ice and snow will evolve into a important dimension of growth for the expansion of domestic demand
