On behalf of Cero Generation – Increasing METELN’s portfolio of around 700 MW of PV built in Spain to over 1 GW by 2025
METLEN Energy & Metals is proceeding with the construction of 3 photovoltaic projects, with a total capacity of 160MWp for Cero Generation, in Spain, in the region of Palentia, in Castilla-Leon.
As stated in a relevant announcement, the project also includes the integrated development and construction of underground medium voltage lines, which will connect each switching station with the existing substation, with a total length of about 18 kilometers, as well as the provision of operation and maintenance (O&M) services for two years.
All works (Grijota III, IV and V) expected to provide over 307 GWh of “green” energy per yearsufficient for supplying nearly 95,000 homeswhile they will prevent the emission of more than 110,000 tons of CO2e. At the same time, more than 150 people will be employed in the construction of these projects, creating local jobs during the construction phase.
The choice of METLEN to implement the specific projects strengthens its position in the Spanish market as a provider of competitive solutions across the spectrum of solar energy in the Iberian Peninsula, increasing the portfolio of approximately 700 MW of photovoltaics already built in Spain to over from 1 GW by 2025.
Nikos Papapetrou, Executive Director of M Renewables, METLEN Energy & Metals, said: “We are very happy to be working with Cero Generation on this very important project. METLEN is an international company specializing in large-scale solar energy and energy storage projects, providing reliable solutions across the construction spectrum, from stand-alone projects to complex hybrid systems. METLEN is the preferred partner for photovoltaic projects of leading companies around the world and we are delighted to work with Cero Generation, continuing our successful course in the Iberian Peninsula and contributing to the environmental goals that have been set.”
Cero Generation is a leading power generation company (IPP), specialized in the development, construction and operation of solar and energy storage projects, accelerating the achievement of a zero-emission future across Europe.
Projects with Cero Generation are added to METLEN’s remarkable partnerships in Spainas indicatively with Ellomay, Nexwell, Sonnedix and Aquila.
METLEN is moving forward with its internationalization strategy, leveraging its experience to create added value in local markets globally, the announcement concludes.
