The Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Nikos Papathanasisin a press conference he gave today, together with the Commander of the Special Service for Just Development Transition, Pelopida Kalliriannounced the approval for funding from the Just Development Transition Program 2021-2027, of six investment projects from large enterprises and 676 investment projects of the de minimis regime, from new very small and small ones businesses.
Specifically, the six investment projects from large investments that have already been approved, have a total eligible budget of 136.2 million. euros, of which 67.9 million euros will be the grant given by the DAM Program. Accordingly, the 676 investment projects, which were also approved and are subject to the de minimis regime, have a total eligible budget of approximately 57.7 million. euros, of which approximately 40.2 million euros will be the grant given by the DAM Program.
The total number of jobs predicted to be created by the specific investment projects amounts to 1,685. Meanwhile, in the immediate future, the completion of the evaluation of additional investment projects for small and medium enterprises is expected, through which it is expected that another 2,300 new jobs will be created.
The implementation of the investments announced today, which will start at the beginning of the new year, thanks to the rapid completion of the evaluation process, is of pivotal importance for the developmental transformation of the local economy and society in the entire Region of Western Macedonia and in the wider area of ​​Megalopolis. , which for decades were linked almost exclusively to the activity of lignite mining.
During the interview, new programs were also announced to strengthen investment plans of existing and new ones established by large, small, micro, and small-medium enterprises, both in the specific regions and islands of the country.
The Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Nikos Papathanasis, underlined: “The Government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis, having secured first among the 27, a program of 1.6 billion. euros for the regions of the Just Development Transition, continues to fully implement its commitments and its reform work, practically strengthening entrepreneurship of all sizes, with an emphasis on SMEs. The goal remains the creation of even more and better-paid jobs and the increase of incomes for all our fellow citizens, especially for the young men and women who we want to stay in their place and contribute to its development”.
The Commander of the Special Service for Just Development Transition, Pelopidas Kalliris, emphasized: “Today’s announcement of the 6 investment projects from large enterprises and 676 investment projects from very small and small enterprises approved to receive funding from the DAM Program 2021-2027 validates in the best way the systematic work done in recent years by the state so that the regions affected by the energy transition can regain their development orientation in sectors of the modern economy. We continue to work hard for these regions to receive every available euro in a timely manner for the benefit of the local economy and their residents.”
