Olympia Odos, managing company of the Elefsina-Patra-Pyrgos highway, presents its Sustainable Development Report for 2023, confirming its commitment to sustainable development and responsible operation. The report reflects the progress made by the company during the specific reference period in five main axes of sustainable development:

• Road Safety and infrastructure: Olympia Odos invests in modern technologies, such as the Smart Tunnel and the MIRANDA diagnostic tool, which ensure that the motorway operates at the highest performance standards, particularly to monitor the quality of the infrastructure. In 2023, it implemented Large Scale and Winter Maintenance Exercises and road safety campaigns.

• Travel experience: Aiming at a comfortable travel experience, Olympia Odos has introduced, through the OLYMPIA PASS transceiver, an innovative mileage billing system, which allows drivers, individuals and professionals, to pay only for the distance they travel. Committed to providing quality services to professional drivers, the company created a special parking area in S.E.A. Akratas, offering safe and comfortable resting conditions. At the same time, the award-winning “Water from the Air” program offers clean drinking water at 11 parking points, providing travelers with greater comfort and convenience.

• Environmental responsibility: Olympia Odos has achieved new milestones in its strategy for a zero-energy highway by 2030. To date, it has reduced its carbon footprint by 49% from 2018 to the end of 2023. It is currently developing 19 solar parks that will fully cover its energy needs , shaping a greener path for the future.

• Human Resources: Olympia Odos continuously invests in the development and well-being of its human resources. It offers an equal, inclusive and fair working environment where employees are encouraged to develop their skills and potential, while implementing strict workplace health and safety policies, which was sealed with the Health & Safety Awards 2023. The commitment to promote equal opportunities in the workplace was strengthened by the signing of the Diversity Charter.

• Social Responsibility: The motorway plays an active role in supporting local societies and economies, with an annual contribution to social development (payments to suppliers, payments to capital providers, taxes paid, social investments, etc.) that in 2023 reached €264 million. The Corporate Social Responsibility actions in 2023 focused on Road Safety, with trainings in schools in collaboration with IOAS, on Culture, Sports and the Environment.

The 2023 Sustainable Development Report of Olympia Road was prepared in accordance with the international standard GRI Standards and takes into account the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, the international standard of Corporate Social Responsibility ISO 26000 and best practices of the industry at national and international level.
