The statement of Vassilis Korkidis

After the end of the procedure, the president of EBEP, Vassilis Korkidis, after congratulating the elected and all the candidates, said:

First, I would like to express my satisfaction, because there was a strong interest and activation of the consultants in the staffing of the above positions of responsibility, which require high demands and hard work, especially in the next four years, during which new challenges for the development will emerge of the national economy but also the further improvement of the business climate. The next day at EBEP means Continuity, Consistency, Cooperation, Sympathy, Understanding and of course a lot of work to support all businesses, especially young entrepreneurship which I call on the Chamber to “embrace” by offering its potential. The increase in registrations at G.E.MH. in the eleventh month of 2024 by 1376 new businesses and the reduction of deletions after and the clearing of the register in the EBEP shows a dynamic of establishing new businesses in the wider area of Piraeus, the Islands and Western Attica. From the data, it is easy to conclude that a remarkable dynamic is recorded in an area where the port and the recently revitalized shipbuilding units give a “new pulse” to the wider economic development. This dynamic is inspired by a vision that is none other than the development of business and especially operational activities. The Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry has contributed and will continue to contribute to turning the vision into reality. We brought the new and, in our new term, we will use it for the benefit of all businesses. We are continuing the actions we started seven years ago, joining our knowledge, experiences and strengths. In this effort, no one is spared and the selection of the persons of the seven-member Administrative Committee, as well as the Presidencies in the four departments and the representatives was the result of an internal vote between equal Councilors. I hope for a creative, productive term, for the benefit of all businesses in the local community and our national economys”.
