The business story of Nutree

Nutree is a Greek company that pioneers in the field of healthy snacks and focuses on the composition of vegan bars with natural ingredients. It was founded in 2018 by Anastasis Stoforos and Phaidonas Michos, two friends who along the way became partners. Having lived abroad they both experienced the difficulty of maintaining a balanced diet in a hectic lifestyle.

Anastasis is the initiator of the company’s vision and recipes. He studied Chemical Engineering at the Technical University of Patras and did postgraduate studies at UCL in London. Returning to Greece and having acquired many years of experience in the food sector – and combining his great love for cooking – he started to create the first energy bars himself. In 2018, together with Phaedon, they founded Nutree. Phaedon is the man behind the “journey” of the company’s recipes. He is a Mechanical Engineer and did a master’s degree in Economic Studies and International Relations at Columbia University, New York.

Today, Nutree’s products are found in many points of sale throughout the country, while 20% of its sales come from exports. Its main markets are the Middle East and Central Europe, namely Bulgaria, Romania, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, England, Cyprus, Belgium, Israel, Germany, Japan, Lithuania. According to information from insider.gr, the next target markets for the company are the USA, Canada and Asian countries. In 2023, Nutree’s turnover approached 1 million. euro.
