Issues related to the processing, viability of the agri -food sector and the development prospects of the primary sector in our country were put on the table at a meeting held by the Minister of Rural Development and Food, Kostas Tsiaras, with the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Food Association.

Among the issues raised on the table was the processing program, which is in the final line, the need to adjust policies for the primary sector, as well as the issue of controls.

Mr Tsiaras stressed that we are at a focal point for the primary sector and highlighted the importance of transparency in OPEKEPE in order to ensure the fair distribution of aid and the proper functioning of the organization.

Particular emphasis was placed on the need to enhance the extroversion of Greek agricultural products, through a rebound strategy that will highlight their added value and enhance their competitiveness in international markets.

Finally, the major challenges faced by the primary sector were discussed, with the aim of shaping a coherent and sustainable development for the agri -food industry.
