The sectoral entities are starting to prepare the calendar of meetings with the pre-candidates for the Presidency to take their demands and listen to positions.
At the CNI (National Confederation of Industry), alongside the traditional debate that should take place on June 30, the sector’s proposals for government programs will be separated by large areas related to the business and development environment, with topics such as infrastructure, sustainability, macroeconomics, legal certainty and taxation.
José Velloso, president of Abimaq (machinery and equipment industry), says that the main themes of the document to be presented this year will be tax reform, access to credit, technological innovation and credit insurance for exports.
At Secovi-SP, the executive president of the entity, Ely Wertheim, says that the main pillars of the material to be taken to candidates cover administrative and tax reform, privatization, reduction of bureaucracy and housing programs.
The CBIC (Brazilian Chamber of the Construction Industry) plans to organize three events. The first should take place in June, with the teams responsible for the candidates’ government plans. The entity should also schedule a debate with the presidential candidates in August and a meeting with the elected team in December.
The ANR, which brings together fast-food giants such as Burger King and McDonald’s, is drawing up a list of demands to send to candidates for the executive and legislative branches.
For the first time, the sector will ask for exemption from payroll for companies outside Simples Nacional, which include large companies associated with the entity.
According to Fernando Blower, executive director of ANR, the measure is important for the medium and long-term growth of the segment, which was impacted by the pandemic with the drop in food outside the home.
The entity will also ask for debates on tax reform, public policies to encourage the first job and credit policies for small businesses. “The food service sector is one of the most employable in the country, being, mainly, the gateway to employment for many young people. This important role already demands the need for a continuous support agenda”, says Blower.
Abrasel, which represents owners of bars and restaurants, is preparing a campaign on labor reform for May.
