Event in Brasilia discusses innovation and public administration reform

The Consad (National Council of Secretaries of State for Administration) will hold, starting this Tuesday (22), a congress to discuss the main topics that involve Brazilian public administration, such as administrative reform, innovation and sustainability.

The event, which is supported by the sheettakes place until Thursday (24) at the Ulysses Guimarães Convention Center, in Brasília.

The congress aims to discuss ten thematic areas, such as people management, digital government, public procurement, concessions and public-private partnerships. Topics such as government transition, environmental and social responsibility and governance will also be addressed.

The opening of the event, which will take place at 2:30 pm this Tuesday, will be attended by the president of Consad, Fabrício Marques Santos, state secretary of planning, management and heritage of Alagoas.

“Brazil’s public management has undergone major transformations in these two years of pandemic, some that were already well under way from a theoretical point of view, but which, with the pandemic, it was possible to put into practice, such as the digital transformation agenda, which accelerated a lot in the last two years”, he said.

He also highlights that the congress will discuss the impact of remote work on public administration and the public procurement model. “Everyone had to reinvent themselves and modernize their public procurement system,” he recalls.

The opening will also be attended by Minister Antonio Anastasia, from the TCU (Union Court of Auditors), and the president of Enap (National School of Public Administration), Diogo Costa.

Several panels will be held over the three days of the event.

On Wednesday (23), for example, the BNDES’ productive and socio-environmental credit director, Bruno Aranha, will participate in the “Green Financing” panel. The debate will also be attended by the deputy executive secretary of the Ministry of the Environment, Daniel Catelli, and the vice president of government and corporate sustainability of Banco do Brasil, Antônio Barreto.

In the afternoon, debaters analyze the issue of administrative reform. Participating in the discussion are Alketa Peci, president of Anpad (National Association of Graduate Studies and Research in Administration), Francisco Gaetani, president of the board of directors of Instituto Republica.org, deputy Tiago Mitraud (Novo-MG) and professor Humberto Falcão , from Fundação Dom Cabral.

On Thursday (24), Minister Cármen Lúcia (Federal Supreme Court) participates in the panel Women’s Protagonism in the Public Sector. The debate will also feature the participation of the mayor of Caruaru (PSDB-PE), Raquel Lyra, federal deputy Paula Belmonte (Cidadania-DF), the secretary of development, planning and partnerships of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Natália Marcassa, and the secretary of planning and management in Minas Gerais, Luísa Barreto.
