The Justice approved the judicial recovery plan of the USJ Group (Usina São João), one of the largest Brazilian sugar and alcohol producers that belongs to a branch of the Ometto family.
With debts of more than R$ 2 billion, the group filed for recovery in August last year. Over the next seven months, he submitted his plan and won the support of the majority of creditors. He waived the need to hold a general meeting with them, and obtained the approval of the 2nd Civil Court of Araras/SP.
Under the plan, the 1,500 workers, who together have credits of R$ 4.7 million, will be paid within 12 months, with a limit of 150 minimum wages each.
Micro-enterprises and small businesses (EPP) will also be paid in installments. On the other hand, large creditors with collateral will be able to choose to receive shares from a Special Purpose Entity (SPE) that will be created to receive participation in farms and companies of the group.
The negotiation was conducted by Laspro Consultores, the judicial administrator named in the process, which established the status of the agreement in court.
