Large supermarket chains are moving to the ceiling of popular flour and sunflower oil codes for purchases from their online stores, while at the same time some other also popular brands in the sunflower oil category are not available in other chains.
Although according to industry players these moves are precautionary, they show if nothing else that problems in the smooth supply of the market can not be ruled out.
The retail flour and sunflower oil sales ceiling was preceded by the imposition of an informal ceiling based on sunflower oil sales by wholesale chains, in order to serve all their customers in the catering industry.
In particular, for purchases from the online store of “Sklavenitis”, whether they are made through the eMarket or through efood, there is up to four packs for popular codes (flour for all uses) in specific brands of branded products, as well as private label (Marata). A ceiling is required (ie the indication “maximum available quantity” is displayed) and in the packages of the offers (eg 2 +1) again for the popular types of flour, up to two multi-packages per order.
The chain applies a similar ceiling in its online store and in terms of sunflower oil packaging. The customer can order from each code up to four pieces, whether they are packages of one or packages of 2 liters. The ceiling also applies to the private label sunflower oil.
The online store of the MyMarket chain imposes a ceiling in sunflower oil up to 4 pieces for the packages of 1 and 2 liters, while for the packages of 5 liters there is a ceiling of one to four packages, depending on the brand. In the case of the cheapest product in the category in the 5 liter package, the customer can order only one piece of it.
The online store of the AB Vassilopoulos chain has not imposed – at least for the time being – a ceiling on the purchases of flour or sunflower oil. However, 5 sunflower oil codes, branded and private label of products are no longer available. Also, 6 flour codes are not available, mainly flour for all uses and soft flour, branded and private label, as well as the multi-packages of the offers.
Through the online store of Market In you can buy only one package from each code of sunflower oil, while in terms of ceilings of 6 pieces there is only one code.
In the online stores of the other chains, the imposition of a ceiling does not appear, at least for the time being.
