Under the pressure of time in order to be consistent with our obligations to Brussels, the process of completing the Land Registry that was completed last November (continued for only 3 areas of the territory, Crete, Corfu and Thesprotia) was a bit hasty.

The platform enables those who have ownership titles – to bypass the court – and through the platform and with a simple procedure to submit the title electronically, to correct the original registrations in the Land Registry, thus avoiding the dispute with the State for ownership.
The procedure will be very simple according to the assurances of the authorities as those concerned will see the image of their property as reflected on the basis of the data so far and will proceed with the correction. Only the submission of E9 and the title of ownership or some legalization document such as the acceptance of inheritance or a judicial decision and a topographic diagram in collaboration with their engineer will be needed.
The platform will help a lot in more difficult cases, which does not require a correction of a man -made error – a wrong registration in the acquisition contract – but more than one person involved and relate to real estate limits.
In such cases, if the person concerned has secured the consent of his neighbors, the statement will change automatically through the application.
Otherwise, the role of the “judge” will be undertaken by a certified engineer who will decide what is on the basis of the titles available.
Non -correction of these mistakes blocking the issuance of building permits or even the transfer of the property. However, it can even lead to a loss of ownership right, which is retrieved only after a court ruling.
The platform will also be used by the inhabitants of Crete, Thesprotia and Corfu for whom the cadastre remains open until May 30.
