In particular, the unemployed amounted to 404,581 people, a decrease of 144,210 people compared to February 2024 (26.3%) and by 22,906 people compared to January 2025 (5.4%).
In women, unemployment rate stood at 11.3% from 13.9% in February last year and in men at 6.4% from 9.5%.
According to large groups of ages, in the 15-24 year old group the unemployment rate stood at 16.8% from 28.9% in February 2024 and at ages 25-74 at 8.1% from 10.4%.
Also, according to ELSTAT’s workforce survey, employees amounted to 4,311,625 people, increased by 72,436 people compared to February 2024 (1.7%) and an increase of 36,927 people compared to January 2025 (0.9%).
While people under the age of 75 who are not included in the workforce, or “people outside the workforce” (that is, people who do not work or seek work), amounted to 3,044,149 people, increasing by 43,660 people compared to February 2024 (1.5%) and a decrease of 16,415 by 20,415.
