Total market capitalization decreased by EUR 2,751 billion – to EUR 260 million amounted to the total value of transactions at the meeting
Strong losses were recorded in today’s Athens Stock Exchange meeting, after yesterday’s strong upward reaction, amid a negative climate in the markets, as the World Trade War is intensifying.
Beijing’s response to Trump’s decision to upload duties to imports from the Asian country to 104%. China’s 34% rise to 84% today.
European shares have heavy losses after yesterday’s upward reaction, as fears of negative effects on European development are exacerbated.
However, the initial losses exceeding 4% were mitigated towards the end of the transactions, as Wall Street at the start of the session made defenses, moving on positive territory.
The Athens Stock Exchange Index closed at 1,528.34 points, down 2.69%. Intra-conference recorded lower price at 1,496.42 points (-4.72%).
The total market capitalization decreased by EUR 2,751 billion compared to the previous meeting.
The value of the transactions amounted to EUR 260,210 million, with 58,966,699 shares.
The high capitalization index fell 2.78%, while the middle capitalization index fell to 2.88%.
Of the high capitalization shares, the shares of Optima (+4.17%), OTE (+0.75%), OPAP (+0.51%) and Aegean Airlines (+0.18%) rose.
On the other hand, the biggest decline was the shares of Viohalco (-6.18%), Titan (-5.99%), Piraeus (-5.04%), Alpha Bank (-4.78%) and Elvalhalcor (-3.94%).
The largest volume of trading was presented by Alpha Bank and Eurobank with 16,053,408 and 12,323,076 shares, respectively
Piraeus scored the highest value of transactions with EUR 45.98 million and National with EUR 38.64 million.
17 shares were on the rise, 100 declining and 5 remained stable.
The shares rose the most: Minerva (+7.57%) and Iktinos (+6.41%).
The biggest decline was recorded by SIDMA (-9.35%) and Vogiatzoglou Systems (-9, 32%).
