Warsaw is visited today by the Minister of National Economy and Finance, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, to attend the meetings of the informal councils of Eurogroup and Ecofin. The focus of debate on European finance ministers will be the US government’s decisions to impose duties and funding European defense.

Mr Pierrakakis will attend the Eurogroup meeting, on the agenda of which will be the impact of international economic developments on interest rates and inflation and coordination of the policies of the eurozone member states. There will be a working lunch, where the macroeconomic impact of the imposition of duties by the US will be discussed in detail.

At the first meeting of the Ecofin Finance Ministers, which will take place in the afternoon, with the participation of the governors of the central banks of EU member states, the competitiveness of the European financial markets will be discussed in the light of the European Union of Investments and Investment and the contribution of their capital markets.

Tomorrow Saturday, the minister will attend the second meeting of Ecofin, which will focus on the safety and funding of defense with a view to strengthening Europe’s defense potential.

On the sidelines of the meetings, Mr. Pierrakakis will meet with his counterparts and European officials.
