British police have arrested seven people after a series of attacks by the Lapsus$ hacking group targeting large companies including Okta and Microsoft, London City Police said on Thursday.

“The City of London Police are conducting an investigation with their partners into members of a hacking group,” Detective Michael O’Sullivan said in response to a question about the Lapsus$ group.

“Seven people between the ages of 16 and 21 were arrested in connection with this investigation and all were released under investigation,” O’Sullivan said.

In Brazil, Lapsu$ claims responsibility for the attacks on the Ministry of Health and on the ConectSUS application and on the system of Americanas SA, the group that owns Americanas, Submarino and Shoptime.

They also say they were responsible for taking down websites of the Portuguese media group Imprensa, including the pages of the broadcaster SIC, audience leader on Portuguese open TV, and the newspaper Expresso, the country’s most read weekly.
