End of time for the purchase of a solar water heater or heat pump with state subsidy: The deadline for submitting applications – after the extension given – expires today and immediately after the “lucky” selection procedures begin. It is the last chance for those who want to claim through the ‘I change a heating system and water heater»Amounts of up to 7,440 euros for the purchase and installation of heat pump.

Those who will place a solar water heater are up to 1,041 euros. The state subsidy covers 50% to 60% of the total cost of the purchase and installation of these energy systems.

What is subsidized for purchase and installation

In addition, it is possible to replace old -fashioned energy -efficient electric heaters, without it being a prerequisite for participation in the program.

In any case the grant concerns:

  • Buying a new solar water heater of modern technology, at 50% or 60%, with the exact rate being on the basis of income criteria.
  • Buying a new heat pump system, 50% (including eg outdoor unit, fan coil, pipes).
  • Perform the necessary additional placement of eligible equipment (eg shipping costs, installation costs, consumables, components, smart system [χρονοδιακόπτη] etc.), at 50% or 60% (depending on income criteria).

Program beneficiaries are home consumers who wish to place a new technology solar water heater and/or new heat pump system.

Who can submit applications

In order to apply for a natural person, the following conditions must be cumulative:

  • Have a compulsory tax register number, as well as valid passwords to the AADE online services, through which the personal information is identified through IPS.
  • To have submitted in the reference year (tax year 2023) Income Tax Statement (E1), either as an individual or joint statement, or indirectly as a ‘spouse1’ in the event of a joint statement. The statement should have been cleared.
  • The solar water heater should be energy class C or better (C, B, A), with a capacity of> 110 liters. In the heat pump the energy class must be A+ or better.

Who are prioritized and who “earns” up to 7,440 €

Applications for funding by interested parties will only be submitted electronically to date May 5, 2025 and compulsory through the official website of the program (https://lalazothermansi-termosifona.gov.gr).

Applications for funding are comparatively evaluated and the existence of either a member/members of the disabled in the family are taken into account if the application concerns families with three or more dependent children, if the residence is in atmospheric burdens (only for the new heat pump system), in areas with high number.

But how can a beneficiary receive the maximum grant?

Example1: Beneficiary of the first income category (60% grant rate for those who individually declare below € 5,000 per year or 10,000 € family) supplies a solar water heater from a supplier of his choice.

In the event that VAT is 24%, the beneficiary may be subsidized up to the maximum amount (public expenditure) of € 1,041.60 which is as follows: Net Product amount: 840 €, VAT: € 201.60 (24% VAT applied to the above value = Branch) Overall)

Example2: Benefit supplies a heat pump system from a supplier of his choice. In addition, it receives a grant for the provision of services from the same supplier.

In the event that VAT is 24%, the beneficiary may be subsidized up to the maximum amount of € 7,440 as follows: Net Product amount: 5,000 € VAT Product: € 1,200 (24% VAT applied to the above value) net 7.440 € (maximum grant – total).
