The Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE) confirms its leadership role in the field of International Tax Education, representing Greece as a leading Member State in the project “Further Upgrade of Education Function in the Tax Administration of the Republic of Serbia” (SR 22 IPA fi 01). In collaboration with the Center for International and European Economic Law (KEDOD), and with the participation of the Federal Academy of Finance of the Austrian Ministry of Finance, AADE is leading the transfer of know -how and optimal practices in critical areas of the tax administration.
The project is being carried out as part of the Twinning Action, which promotes cooperation between public administrations of the Member States of the European Union and Partners’ countries, through an exchange of know-how and experience between peer-to-peer. Its aim is to enhance the institutional, educational, management and organizational capabilities of Serbia’s tax administration, with an emphasis on upgrading its educational function.
The project focuses on improving the quality and effectiveness of human resources training, as well as enhancing the administrative capacity of the Serbian service, in full harmony with European standards. At the same time, it reinforces strategic cooperation between Greece and Serbia, highlighting the active role of Greek public administration in shaping the common European future in the Western Balkan region.
The main role in the implementation of the project is played by specialized executives of the AADE Tax and Customs Academy (TRA), which, since its inception in 2017, has successfully implemented 1,300 educational programs, with approximately 60,000 employees. The Academy has previously participated in Peer-to-Peer multilateral projects, such as the NAFA (Romania) Tax Education School (IOTA). At the same time, in the context of international cooperation, he undertook the preparation of Albanian Customs Service officials on issues of customs controls and financial crimes, while organizing a joint Celbet network with the aim of enhancing the sustainable cross-border customs cooperation at the Gardal Customs Customs. Union.
The General Coordination, Organization and Administration of the Project is under the auspices of the AADE Governor and is implemented by experienced lawmakers of the Office of Commander, who have proven many years of experience in the administration of complex know -how of know -how.
This project officially began on 1st/4/2025 and is expected to be completed on 31/3/2027, while implementation activities will start in June 2025. It has a total budget of € 1,500,000, which is entirely funded by the European Union, as part of the reinforcement of twinning programs (twinning).
