In AADE, the staff of the Agency will also be transferred.

Following the efforts of OPEKEPE’s internal modernization that did not attribute the expected, the Government, in cooperation with the European authorities and committed to creating a transparent and integrated, friendly paid payment system, proceeds with a determination to permanently address the problem.

The message is clear: The agricultural aid and payments system is going through a new era, putting a definitive end to bad practices and decades -long practices and pathogens, deprived of consistent farmers, resources and abilities.

The process begins immediately, with the cooperation of the Ministries of Rural Development, National Economy and Finance and AADE, under the supervision of the Vice -President of the Government. The aim is for the complete integration to be completed in the second half of 2026. To this end, the relevant legislation will be submitted by July.

Legislative intervention will focus in the best service of farmers and at the same time in transparency and accountability By upgrading payment processes, developing new digital services, enhancing internal control, interoperability of OPEKEPE and AADE systems, multiplication of natural controls using modern digital tools and standardization and certification of procedures.

The choice of AADE to implement the reform is not accidental. The independence of the Authority as well as its significant successes in tackling tax evasion and to enhance transparency in citizens’ transactions with the tax administration are guaranteed to reform the system of agricultural aid and payments, in favor of farmers and the primary sector as well as the Greek economy and the Greek economy.
