Unemployment fell 8.3% in April 2025 – with 10.8% in April 2024 and the revised downward, 8.9% in March 2025 – the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) announced on Friday.

According to seasonally customized employment and unemployment estimates for April 2025, employees amounted to 4,313,817 people, increased by 24,554 people compared to April 2024 (0.6%) and an increase of 28,144 compared to March 2025 (0.7%).

At the same time, the unemployed amounted to 391,263 people, a decrease of 128,525 people compared to April 2024 (-24.7%) and a decrease of 26,943 people compared to March 2025 (-6.4%).

People under 75 years of age who are not included in the workforce, or “people outside the workforce”, that is, people who do not work or seek work, amounted to 3,050,528, increased by 77,322 people compared to April 2024 (2.6%) and a decrease of 3,569 people in March 20%.

The retreat of unemployment was welcomed by Labor Minister Niki Kerameos.
