Postponement for… next year is – in substance – the process of compulsory recording, certification and upgrading of lifts operating in public and private buildings. The State’s decision to implement the plan to create an elevator census register de facto differentiates the timetables that had been put in place and puts the procedure in more rational contexts.
The implementation of the state’s requirements to be recorded and certified by the end of this month all the lifts proved to be problematic, something that the Pan-Hellenic Federation of Property Owners (POMIDA) and the Pan-Hellenic Federation of Craftsmen have been pointed out.
The process for the lift statement
As the two bodies emphasized in their joint announcement, the big “thorn” was that, 17 years after the institutionalization of the JMD, the state did not know the exact number of lifts operating in the country. And the single lift register, which was launched by law in 2022 to fill this gap, has remained inactive to date.
Thus, it was necessary for the Ministry of Development to proceed with the procedures needed to operate a relevant statement platform: So recognizing this need is activated by the beginning of July (immediately after the relevant arrangements) and by 30 November 2025, at https://elevator. Elevators in the country regardless of certification stage.
This platform will declare the lifts and then – and based on the data gathered – the timetable for the next steps will be decided.
The connection to the platform will be with the Gov/Taxis codes, with the procedure being compulsory and can be done by any resident of a house, an apartment building- owner or manager- and the operating officer of a public building.
Also, the registration process can also be done by responsible conservationists or installers.
What will the inventory include
The census will include 7 compulsory fields, which are common knowledge of those who are liable to submit the statement, which will contribute to the statistical processing of data by the relevant departments of the Ministry.
1. Address and location of installation – KAEK Property (will be automatically complemented by interoperability or manual introduction where there is no CAEK).
2. Number of lifts in the building
3. Year of Elevator placement.
4. Number of lift stops.
5. If it has CE markings.
6. If there is an active or older certification and the time of it.
7. Owner-Affiliates/Central Instructor Details (which will arise from the identification process).
The administrative penalties provided for by JMD 28425/2008 for non -registration cease to apply in order to facilitate universal participation.
Users’ safety and the reliability of technical installations are the responsibility of all of us.
There will be more details in the draft law on national quality policy that will be submitted to Parliament in the coming days.
