A 34.1% decrease in the number of job vacancies in the whole economy, with the exception of the primary sector and household activities, in the second quarter this year compared to the second quarter of 2024 (38,834 and 58,941 positions respectively), compared to 58.8% in the 24.8%. quarter of 2023.

According to the Hellenic Statistical Authority, a new job is considered a newly created position, an already vacant position or a position to be vacant soon, for which the employer has recently taken drastic steps to find an appropriate candidate outside the business, and which is available either in the future. It is noted that vacancies are only concerned with employees.

The jobs that will be covered by:

* Apprentices without pay, either by employers or by any social security institution.

* Contractors, who are not in the payroll.

* Personnel who are re -employed or returned by license with or unpaid earnings.

* Internal movements to the business of existing staff.

Empty jobs in the near future are the vacancies full or part -time, which should be covered in no more than three months.
