OR 5th Scientific Meeting of the Union for Triple Tools (5th Agstr Thessaloniki) will take place in Thessaloniki, at September 15-18 2025in KEDEA. The organization is undertaken by the Department of Archeology and the Interdisciplinary Archaeological Research Laboratory of the Department of History and Archeology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, as well as the PlantCult team of the AUTH Interdisciplinary Research and Innovation Center.

According to the AUTH announcement, this meeting is “An international event, which takes place every two years in different European countries”. This year’s event will participate 55 delegates From Greece and abroad, presenting scientific work on issues such as ancient technology, the supply of raw materials, the organization of construction, the technological characteristics, the use, the movement of stone tools and the termination of their use.

The contribution of tooling tools to archaeological research

As the organizers point out, the study of trilogy It offers important knowledge of everyday life, social structure and the economic organization of human communities of the past. Understanding the raw materials used allows the decoding of construction techniques and the disclosure of traces of use, highlighting the framework that incorporated the needs and skills of both prehistoric and later societies.
