As the Minister pointed out, “The new framework is clearly defining rules for the competition to work fairly for all and to ensure improvement in the quality of the services provided. It establishes clear rules of qualitative criteria and legality, taking into account the increase in this activity which is part of the tourist offer. That is why the government also recognizes the need to safeguard healthy competition in the field of hospitality. It is sought to alleviate the pressure exerted by increased travel flows, in some destinations, as well as the contribution to the healthy economic and social development of destinations, promoting a balanced supply to hospitality and housing residents, workers, etc. “
The Minister expressed her confidence that: “The new arrangements contribute to the implementation of the goals for quality and sustainable development of Greek tourism, which continues to record historically high performance, as data so far shows that it will be another positive year. Already in the first seven months of the year, travel receipts increased by 12.5%compared to the corresponding period of 2024. While incoming travel traffic at territory, it increased compared to last year. BASIC POINTS OF NEW LEGISLATION
