On Wednesday, October 1st, it “inaugurates” an eight -month period during which all the support measures for various categories of citizens who have voted or announced by the government will be “unveiled” at a total cost of approaching EUR 3 billion (EUR 2,963 billion).

New payroll

The payroll for 151,500 units of the Armed Forces and Security Corps is changing since October 1st. The average increase for 75,500 Armed Forces executives is 145 €/month. The average increase for 76,000 police, port and fire department reaches 111m. euro. Since July, both categories of workers receive horizontally increased by 100 € hazard allowance.

Total cost cost: EUR 273 million (EUR 153 million for the Armed Forces and EUR 120 million for Security Forces)

Rent allowance

By the end of November 1.2 million principal or student residence will receive a refund of up to 800 euros.

In fact, the amount of the refund is equal to 1/12 of the total annual rent paid in 2024. Beneficiaries are:

Income criteria

  • Unmarried: Up to 20,000 euros
  • Married or Members of Symphony: up to 28,000 euros
  • EUR 4,000 for each dependent child.
  • Single parent families: up to 31,000 euros, plus 5,000 euros for each additional dependent child, beyond the first.

Assets

  • 120,000 BUSINESS for the unmarried.
  • EUR 120,000 increased by EUR 20,000 for the spouse or part of a cohabitation agreement and each additional dependent child.

Total cost of measure: 230 million euros

Allowance of 250 € to pensioners

Also, at the end of November 1.44 million euros of pensioners will receive a reinforcement of 250 euros. Beneficiaries are as follows:

-Se., private and public sectors, over 65 years old – are estimated at 1,157,551 according to the Ministry of Finance – which meet the following income criteria:

  • Annual income of up to 14,000 euros and real estate up to 200,000 euros for unmarried or widowed
  • Annual Family Income of up to 26,000 euros and real estate up to 300,000 euros for married or those in cohabitation agreement

-Rebellious elderly. Those who are over 67 years old and have not gathered the necessary stamps. Number in 34.357
-Those who receive wheelchair benefits from OPECA and E-EFKA having naturally passed the required evaluation. Are estimated at 248,823.

Total cost cost: EUR 360 million.

Increases in pensions

2.5m. Pensioners will see a new increase in their pensions at the end of December, for the lucky ones the 4th consecutive. It is concerned in January, however, because pensions are preparing, they will receive their money shortly before New Year’s Eve. The increase is expected to be around 2.4%.

For the first time this year, all those who have a big personal difference will be increased, only half that will be half. And from the time, which is abolished, all retirees will receive the increase.

Total costs of measure: EUR 542 million for 2026 (EUR 467 million or EUR 75 million and EUR 75 million the additional burden of getting half a growth and those who have a large personal difference).

Tax -scale reform

The benefit of the biggest tax reform ever – according to Finance Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis – will begin to appear from the very first day of the new year through the smaller monthly booking and pensions.

Individual businesses and farmers will see the benefit by filing the tax year 2026 in March 2027. The total beneficiaries reach 4m.

Total cost cost: 1.2 billion euros (for 2026 only)

Raising minimum wage

Like every April April, April 2026 will have another increase in the minimum wage.

This increase does not concern those who are paid the minimum wage in the private sector but also concerns public employees. As for an increase in the minimum, the horizontal increase in all employees’ income of the public will be equal.

The immediate effects of the increase in the minimum wage exceed 1.6 million due to its “fingerprint” in the State.

Total costs: EUR 358 million (for 2026 only) and only for civil servants.
