720,039 people were registered as unemployed in the register of the Public Employment Service (DYPA) in September 2025, recording a decrease of 56,287 people (-7.3%) compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and a decrease of 70,805 people (-9.0%) compared to the previous month, August 2025.

In addition, the number of subsidized persons for the month of September 2025 amounted to 171,667 people, recording a decrease of -2,273 people (-1.3%) compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and an increase of 1,063 people (0.6%) compared to the previous month, August 2025.

According to the DYPA registered unemployment statistics, out of a total of 720,039 people, 410,662 (57.0%) people are registered in the DYPA register for a period equal to or longer than 12 months and 309,377 (43.0%) are registered in the DYPA register for a period of less than 12 months.

Men amount to 233,213 people (32.5% rate) and women amount to 486,226 people (67.5% rate).

The 30-44 age group gathers the largest number of registrants among the age groups which amounts to 217,125 people (30.2%).

The Secondary education level gathers the largest number of registered among the educational levels which amounts to 337,650 people (percentage of 46.9%).

Among the Regions of the Country, the Region of Attica and the Region of Central Macedonia record the largest number of registered persons, which amounts to 252,014 people (percentage of 35.0%) and 146,567 persons (percentage of 20.4%) respectively.

The total number of subsidized unemployed people, for the month of September 2025, (refers to the number of beneficiaries who were paid within the corresponding month) amounts to 171,667 people, of which 165,916 (96.6%) are general unemployed and other categories of subsidized unemployed and 5,751 (3.4%) are seasonal tourist workers. professions. Men amount to 51,398 (percentage of 29.9%) and women to 120,269 (percentage of 70.1%).

Of the total number of subsidized unemployed people, 137,177 (percentage 79.9%) are general, 1,314 (percentage 0.8%) are builders, 5,751 (percentage 3.4%) are seasonal workers in tourism professions, 796 (percentage 0.5%) are seasonal other (agricultural), 26,431 (percentage 15.4%) are teachers and 198 (0.1%) are others.
