Governor Rodrigo Garcia keeps R$100,000 in cash, according to the declaration of assets he handed over to Alesp when he took office last week.
The amount is higher than what he discloses that he has in two current accounts, one with Bradesco (R$ 26,645.07) and another with Banco do Brasil (R$ 12,971.21). The governor also declares a savings of R$ 2,318.84.
The statement he presented in January 2019, at the beginning of his term as deputy, also had BRL 100,000 in cash.
Sought by Panel SA, the governor’s press office stated, in a note, that “the declarations of assets of Rodrigo Garcia have been published since 1998” and that “all assets were declared and registered in the official gazette, as provided by law”.
