Downward trends were registered by stock prices in today’s session of the Athens Stock Exchange, with the market retreating towards the levels of 2,000 units.

From the high capitalization, the shares of Viohalco, PPC, OTE and Jumbo supported the market, while the securities of Motor Oil, Piraeus, Ethniki and Elvalhalcor were under pressure.

The General Price Index closed at 2,005.20 points, down 1.00%.

Intra-sessionally it recorded a higher price at 2,030.26 units (+0.24%) and a lower price at 2,002.46 units (-1.14%).

The value of transactions amounted to 195.66 million euros, while 30,118,702 shares were traded.

The large-cap index fell 1.02%, while the mid-cap index fell 0.94%.

Of the high capitalization shares, the biggest increase was recorded by the shares of Viohaco (+1.33%), PPC (+0.80%), Jumbo (+0.73%) and OTE (+0.68%).

On the contrary, the largest decline was recorded by the shares of Motor Oil (-2.26%), Piraeus (-2.18%), Elvalhalcor (-2.19%), Ethniki (-2.01%) and Titan (-2.00%).

The largest volume of transactions was presented by Eurobank and Piraeus, trading 5,349,280 and 4,319,728 shares, respectively.

Piraeus with 29.85 million euros and National with 10.13 million euros recorded the highest transaction value.

34 stocks moved up, 74 down and 19 remained stable.

The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: Mermeren (+6.47%) and General Emporio (+6.03%).

The biggest drop was recorded by the shares: Frigoglass (-6.87%) and Doppler (-4.17%).
