WHO IS ENTITLED TO THE FGTS WITHDRAWAL?
By the rules of the federal government, the worker with a balance in the Guarantee Fund that is not blocked will be entitled to the extraordinary withdrawal of the FGTS. In all, 42 million can have access to the money, according to calculations by the Ministry of Economy, totaling R$ 30 billion released.
The money released can be from an account opened by the current job or from former employers. If there is a balance, the withdrawal of values from the oldest companies is first authorized until reaching the most recent one.
UNDERSTAND HOW THE FGTS WORKS
The Guarantee Fund is a kind of “compulsory savings” for workers, whose objective is to protect professionals who work with a formal contract. The employer must deposit, every month, 8% of the employee’s salary in an account in his name.
Upon dismissal, the worker can withdraw the values. If it is without just cause at the behest of the employer, there is still the payment of a 40% fine on the balance of the fund. If you resign, there is no way to withdraw, but there are other situations in which it is possible to withdraw the values, such as retirement and purchase of your own home, for example.
