Bloomberg: Greece to seek exit from enhanced surveillance program in August

by

According to Bloomberg, our country is aiming to exit the enhanced surveillance program in August.

According to the report, Greece expects in 4 months from now to get out of the strict monitoring regime to which it was subjected after the economic rescue strategy implemented by the institutions of the European Union.

This move is widely estimated that even on a symbolic level it will mark the official end of the ten-year crisis that rocked the country.

As Greece aims to regain the investment grade for its bonds, there is a consensus between Athens and European creditors to complete the program by the end of the summer, according to officials familiar with the matter.

It is noted that the government aims to regain the status of investment grade in 2023 and the exit from the supervision program is not expected to affect the suitability of the country for bond purchases by the ECB.

Final decisions are expected in June, officials said, asking not to be named because the discussions are confidential.

Greece seeks to get out of the strict surveillance regime in August, after being rescued by the institutions of the European Union, in a largely symbolic move that would mark the official end of the ten-year crisis.
