The redemption of miles for domestic airline tickets took a leap at Easter, according to mileage company Smiles. The growth was 226% compared to 2021, when Brazil still recorded peaks in Covid cases and travel restrictions.
The preferred regions were Southeast and Northeast. São Paulo was the destination with the most rescues, followed by Rio de Janeiro and Brasília.
During the holiday, Brazilians also intensified the search for flights out of the country.
The search for tickets to international destinations accounted for 33% of the total. The greatest interest was in Buenos Aires, in addition to Cancún, Miami and Orlando.
