Companies such as Uber, 99 and iFood, represented by Amobitec (Brazilian Association of Mobility and Technology), are going to Brasília this week to defend to parliamentarians the version of companies for the inclusion of delivery people and drivers in Social Security.
The initiative, however, resonated with skepticism and criticism among workers at a time when the category tries to reactivate movements such as the 2020 Apps Breque.
The topic is in the crosshairs of this year’s election campaign. Former President Lula has already said that the social security inclusion of the category would be among his priorities within the revision of the labor reform, defended by the PT. Regulation is also discussed in the government of Jair Bolsonaro.
Amobitec defends the definition of legislation that includes the payment of social security contributions by both couriers and companies.
Driver representatives complain of lack of dialogue. “Amobitec would, at the very least, have to convene associations that represent drivers, because they are the most interested in the project”, says Eduardo Lima de Souza, president of Amasp (Association of Application Drivers of São Paulo).
For him, the platforms have to assume a large part or the entire value of the pension. “The driver has a MEI, with a value of R$ 60 per month, he has his right guaranteed by the Social Security. Souza.
SindimotoSP, which brings together motoboys, also criticizes the event organized by Amobitec. For the entity, the debates do not resolve the current condition of workers.
“An annual readjustment, risk control and weekly working hours, reduction of the impact of fuel prices, true dialogue with workers and, mainly, with the union representing the category. We need appreciation, respect and recognition of urgent claims and desires of delivery people”, wrote the entity in a note.
