After two years without its face-to-face edition due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Agrishow (International Fair of Agricultural Technology in Action), the main event of Brazilian agribusiness, is once again held with the presentation of machines that cost millions and promise savings to producers.
The event takes place in Ribeirão Preto (313 km from São Paulo) between this Monday (25) and Friday (29).
The fair is home to 800 brands from 16 industries, including agricultural and construction machinery, aviation, precision agriculture, warehousing, fertilizers, financial services and transportation.
Manufacturers arrive at Agrishow betting on sales growth due to the good harvests of various crops in recent years. In common, the equipment has connectivity for real-time transmission of data collected in the field.
The so-called digital agriculture, which consists of interpreting this infinity of information, has made farmers produce more in the same area, spending less time and money. Investments, however, are high.
Case will present a sugarcane harvester with prices of up to R$ 2.5 million. The company says fuel consumption has been reduced compared to previous versions, and a new hydraulic system increases harvesting capacity by 10%. According to the manufacturer, the evolutions provide savings of R$ 100 thousand each harvest.
Rodrigo Alandia, product marketing director of Case IH for Latin America, said that the new machine harvests more than 1,000 tons of cane per day, having reached 4,000 tons in tests.
Many companies focus on soybeans, which started the year with 5.6 million tons processed – which represents an increase of 18% in the first two months of the year compared to the same period in 2021, according to Abiove (Brazilian Association of Vegetable Oil Industries). ).
Valtra will launch new sprayers at Agrishow and promises 60% fuel savings compared to other models. Alexandre Vinicius de Assis, the brand’s sales director, said that there are resources such as height sensors and bar leveling, which improve the distribution of drops.
Fuel economy is also one of John Deere’s promises with the giant 9R tractor, which offers 45% more harvesting capacity across all crops, according to the manufacturer.
The company also presents a new nutrient distributor, in addition to planters and the autonomous 8R conceptual tractor, which, through cameras and sensors, is able to perform its functions without human intervention.
At the Massey Ferguson stand, one of the highlights is the sprayer designed to save up to BRL 50,000 per crop.
According to the manufacturer, the new series of MF 3400 tractors allows savings of up to 12% in fuel by having a system that spends less time on maneuver, in addition to a hydraulic system that offers 25% gain when working with heavier implements.
At New Holland, there will be a new line of combines equipped with dual rotors and the Intellisense system, which automatically adjusts the machine. This type of equipment can cost up to R$ 3 million.
There will also be a tractor powered by biomethane. “This tractor gives the rural producer the possibility to use the biogas generated inside the property from animal waste, for example, to supply the equipment”, said Eduardo Kerbauy, Brazil market director at New Holland Agriculture.
Biomethane propulsion technology, according to New Holland, has advantages such as reducing emissions by up to 80% compared to a diesel engine. “By using biomethane, the carbon impact of the machine is virtually zero, and cost savings of between 25% and 40% can be achieved when compared to conventional fuels,” Kerbauy said.
