The Federal Revenue released, this Tuesday (27), a new version of the PGD IRPF (Income Tax Declaration Generator Program for Individuals) for 2022, with an update of some declaration forms.
For most taxpayers, the update of the program already downloaded on the computer will be automatic. For others, however, it will be necessary to re-download, and the contributor will need to be careful not to lose what they have already filled in. For those who need to download again, it is recommended not to delete the program that is already installed so that the system asks to preserve the data filled in.
What has changed with the new version of the program:
- Correction in importing information on Rural Activity Debts from the previous year’s declaration
- Automatic inclusion of leading zeros when informing Renvam
- Importing data from Gcap 2021 version 1.4
- Greater emphasis on the button for the pre-populated declaration and other graphical tweaks
According to the tax authorities, those who have version 1.1, 1.2 or 1.3 will have the automatic update. However, taxpayers who have version 1.0 must download it manually from the IRS page. It is at this point that data already filled in may be lost.
To find out which version of your program, just look at the IR 2022 program, above, on the right side. There, the update number will be written.
In a note, the Revenue says that “this version 1.0 came out with this problem of not updating automatically”. The tax authorities also say that version updates, in general, “happen in a transparent way and preserve the data already typed”.
How to make filling the IR 2022 easier
If you lose the information, there are two faster ways to have less work when filling out the IR again: import the information from the Income Tax declared in 2021, if you are making the declaration on the same computer, or opt for the pre-filled version.
The pre-filled declaration, however, is limited. This is because it is only available to those who have a silver or gold level gov.br account. In this version, the main forms must be completed. The first one is the information on the taxpayer, which will come according to the data declared to the Federal Revenue Service in the previous year.
The data, however, are the responsibility of the citizen. If any amount is incorrect and is informed in this way to the tax authorities, it will be necessary to send a rectifying declaration so as not to fall into the fine mesh of the Income Tax. There may be discrepancies or incomplete data on health expenditures, for example.
Deadline to declare the IR is longer
The Federal Revenue has extended to May 31, 2022 the deadline for submitting the annual income tax adjustment declaration, the final estate declaration and the declaration of definitive departure from the country. Whoever is obliged to render accounts and misses the deadline pays a minimum fine of R$ 165.74, which can reach 20% of the tax due.
The tax payable calculated also had its maturity postponed to the end of May, but the refunds will follow the previous schedule, without change.
WHO NEEDS TO DECLARE THE GO IN 2022:
- Workers, retirees and public servants who received taxable income of more than BRL 28,559.70 in 2021
- Who received exempt, non-taxable or taxed exclusively at source income above R$ 40 thousand in 2021, which includes the FGTS (Fundo de Garantia do Tempo de Serviço) and unemployment insurance, for example
