See 10 places with good wi-fi to do a home office away from home in SP

by

After more than two years of the pandemic, the home office has tired a lot of people, who can’t stand working from home anymore, and also many companies, which increasingly want their employees around. But remote work still resists in São Paulo.

Even with the number of Covid-19 cases dropping for months in the city, some companies have adopted the hybrid work format, allowing the employee to go to the office sporadically, for meetings or on dates with specific tasks.

On the other days, it is possible to stay at home — or, as everything is open and working normally in the capital, it is a chance to do the home office outside the house. With this audience in mind, we selected ten locations, in all regions, that offer internet and a cozy atmosphere for a different “office”, with coffee, food and beautiful views to air out the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Many have free wi-fi or only require one consumption.

They are public libraries, cafes, cultural centers, coworking spaces and cafeterias that are acting as offices. Not all locations listed, however, are quiet for professional activities that require maximum concentration. So the tip is not to forget the headphones.

Write down the addresses below, grab your notebook and good work.

Lenyra Fraccaroli Library

Dedicated to children’s literature, the space offers the public an intense cultural program, with soirees, theatrical performances, shows and storytelling, in addition to promoting courses and workshops. But inside there is the Telecentre, a calm environment, with computers and free internet, where you can work or study.

Villa-Lobos Park Library

Amidst the green of the park, the construction of 4,000 square meters stands out. The BVL is a model library that, in addition to offering free Wi-Fi, has 90 computers with internet access. On the floor, there are sockets to charge the notebook. The place has several environments, some quieter, such as the coworking room, others less so.

Every day, the cultural center receives people looking for a little place in the sun, on the terrace, or in the shade, in the library, to work or study. With free Wi-Fi from the public network provided by the city, it is also possible to connect in the restaurant, in the foyer and in the living area.

Coffee Lab

Barista Isabela Raposeiras’ cafeteria welcomes those who want to change the atmosphere of the home office and, on the other hand, enjoy a good coffee. Wi-fi is open to customers in a vintage-industrial decor and full of plants. For those who will spend hours there working, the tip is to ask for the coffee refill. For R$22, you can taste three different types of drink.

Vitamin lady

Many residents of Pinheiros and surrounding areas have a chair for work (with a good coffee, juice or a light dish) in this kind of “office cafeteria”, known for serving nature delicacies and free wi-fi. For breakfast and lunch, the place is popular, but it is still an option for relaxed meetings or a work day that does not ask for such a quiet environment.

Many of Sesc’s units have areas for study and work, but Sesc Pompeia is one of the darlings of students and employees looking for a different office. In the Reading Space, the public can consult newspapers and magazines, in addition to accessing the internet. The wooden tables are shared and there are also sofas scattered around the room. The lunch break can be enjoyed at Comedoria, which serves food at fair prices.

Starbucks

The famous North American chain of coffee shops has about 60 units in the capital of São Paulo. All of them have similar infrastructure, with tables for small groups, shareable tables, chairs, benches, sofas, free internet from the purchase of any item —the wi-fi password appears on the invoice — and sockets scattered around. Stores tend to be busy, so if your job requires a lot of concentration, don’t forget your headphones.

Ideal for those who need to work late or on weekends, the place is open every day until 10pm. For those who need concentration, between 2 pm and 7 pm the environment is quieter.
