The lightness of Europeans – who typically hinder – in the face of energy accuracy – is..unbearable for the Greek government which was accelerating its pace, finalized the plan and is ready to announce it. THE Prime Minister is expected to present today general context of intervention and will follow most likely on Friday its specialization by them competent Ministers of Energy and Finance.
The goal of the government is none other than return of accounts at the level of last summer, shortly before the frenetic increase in gas prices began. In August 2021 the price of gas had a fluctuation of 25 € -28 € / MwH. Today it is at 105 €, which is almost four times.
The intervention will be horizontal, for everyone, ie the focus on small consumptions of 300Kw / month stops. In fact, the information says that it will also apply to secondary residences and cottages, in contrast to the current subsidy system that applies only to the first residence. Of course it will also concern businesses.
It is clear that in addition to relieving households and businesses, the government wants to put bridle and inflation who, running at double-digit percentages … gnaws on citizens’ incomes, largely nullifying government tax-reduction policies.
The formula of the government as has already written will have 2 basic ingredients. The first will be the ceiling on wholesale prices and the second subsidies on retail. In the first phase, the time horizon is for 6 months, from June until the end of the year. However, according to the information of skai.gr, the government’s plan will include some retrospective, which remains to be seen how it will be reflected in the announcements that will be made. If necessary, the government is prepared to extend the intervention for at least the first half of 2023.
The funds that will be required amount to approximately € 2.5 billion for the first half of the year and will come from the Energy Transition Fund, the State Budget and the taxation of the super profits of energy companies.
