Universities, technical schools and colleges offer free support, aimed at the millions of Brazilians who have not yet declared their 2022 Income Tax and who have until May 31 to render accounts. Filling out the declaration generates many doubts, and those who are obliged to send the IR and miss the deadline pay a minimum fine of R$ 165.74, which can reach 20% of the tax due in the year.
In general, the service is offered by students of the institutions’ accounting and administration courses, under the supervision of professors. It is necessary to pay attention to the specific rules of each institution. In some, support is linked to campaigns to collect donations; in others, it is necessary to schedule the service in advance and there are those that only offer online support. See the list below.
In the state of São Paulo, nine Etecs and Fatecs units provide remote and face-to-face services in seven cities – in the capital, Bragança Paulista, Campinas, Jales, Matão, Ribeirão Preto and São Caetano do Sul. Rules vary: some units ask for food donations as collaboration, others require an appointment. Not all work in person and remotely. Information about each institution can be consulted on the Centro Paula Souza website.
