Ryanair uses ‘Tinder Scam’ to mock crypto investors after losses

by

Ryanair, Europe’s largest low-cost airline, made yet another post on Twitter in a joking tone on social media, this time mocking investors in crypto assets after the market slumps in recent weeks.

In a post on Twitter, the airline uses an image of Simon Leviev, known as the “Tinder Scam”, after a Netflix movie shows how he conned dozens of women across Europe to enjoy the good and the best, including jet flights.

The tweet features a montage of two photos of Leviev, one on a private jet and the other edited showing him in a Ryanair seat, with the caption “Crypto bros yesterday versus Crypto bros today”

The slang term “crypto bros” refers to big cryptocurrency enthusiasts.

Responding to its own post, Ryanair tweeted Elon Musk and asked “is that you?”, mocking Tesla’s chief executive for his support of cryptocurrencies.

The post began to go viral, with both favorable and unfavorable comments for the airline. However, what is a fact is the recent volatilities of the cryptocurrency market, which has entered a major downturn in the last week, with almost $200 billion (R$ 1 trillion) eliminated from all digital currencies.

Bitcoin, the biggest cryptocurrency, dropped from US$35,941.18 (R$ 183.5 thousand) to US$ 26,350.49 (R$ 134.5 thousand), in less than a week, before recovering some of its value on Friday (13), closing at around US$ 30 thousand (R$ 153 thousand).
