iFood will create a national forum that will be held periodically with the participation of delivery people to address the demands of the category and topics related to the labor market, social security and transparency in the relationship between the platform and professionals.
The first edition, to be held in December, in São Paulo, will align expectations and define the frequency of the meeting, which should be frequent from 2022 onwards, according to the company.
“There will be a first moment for defining the rules and a second moment for accepting the demands. From the next meeting onwards, then yes, the only topic is the discussion of demands”, says João Sabino, director of public policies at iFood.
Ralf Alexandre Elisario, one of the leaders of the strikes in the category in 2020, says that the group already wants to discuss the delivery agendas at this first meeting.
“We are not going to leave our state just to talk about next year’s forum. We are interested in improving the class,” he says.
The priority demand, according to Elisario, includes the professional’s right to defend himself when he is blocked by the application, the improvement of the system of parcel verification codes to increase security and the readjustment of delivery rates — which were reduced at the beginning of the pandemic , it says.
iFood says it will invite around 25 category leaders, men and women, who use motorcycles or bicycles to work.
