485,666 workers have PIS/Pasep allowance to withdraw

Workers have R$ 443 million in salary bonuses from PIS and Pasep that can still be withdrawn until December 29. The allowance paid is up to BRL 1,212, depending on the number of months worked in 2020.

According to data from the Ministry of Labor and Welfare, 485,666 allowances for the 2020 base year are forgotten in the banks, 328,612 of which are from Pasep (in the total amount of BRL 308.01 million) and another 157,054 from PIS (amounting to BRL 135.04 millions). The Pasep allowance is intended for those who are enrolled in the program as a federal, state or municipal public servant or employee of public companies and mixed capital companies. Already the PIS is due to workers of private companies that meet the rules of the program.

Every year, part of the Brazilians entitled to the allowance do not withdraw the amounts from the official calendar, as they do not know that they are entitled. In the case of the old allowance (base year 2019), BRL 208.5 million can still be recovered by more than 320 thousand workers, informed the Ministry of Labor and Social Security based on data from Banco do Brasil and Caixa. Who is entitled to PIS 2022

For to have the PIS/Pasep allowance of up to one minimum wage is necessary:

• Be registered for at least five years in PIS (for workers of private companies) or in Pasep (for workers of public companies);

• Have formally worked for at least 30 days (consecutive or not) in the reference year;

• Have received, in the reference year, a monthly average of up to two minimum wages;

• The employer must have correctly informed the employee’s data in the Rais of the base year​. The allowance amounts are paid to identified workers based on information provided by the employer via Rais or eSocial.

In March, after reviewing the records, the government included another 1.7 million workers in the payment of the 2022 salary bonus, referring to the base year 2020.

How to withdraw PIS in the Caixa?

If the worker does not have an account with Caixa and the bank has not been able to open the digital savings account on behalf of the beneficiary (option that allows using the amounts through the Caixa Tem app), the withdrawal can be carried out in person at branches with presentation of the PIS number and an official photo document, such as ID or driver’s license.

It is also possible to withdraw using the Citizen Card with the password at ATMs, lottery units and Caixa Aqui stations.

How to withdraw Pasep at Banco do Brasil?

To withdraw the Pasep salary allowance, the worker can go to any Banco do Brasil branch and present an official identification document. BB’s account holders and savers have already received credit for the salary bonus into their account.

Banco do Brasil informs that, until this Thursday (19), 2.38 million workers have withdrawn the salary bonus to which they are entitled – totaling disbursements of R$ 2.67 billion.

How to request the release of the old salary allowance (base year 2019)

To release the old allowance (referring to 2019), it is necessary to submit an application to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, preferably filling out the form that is available by clicking here. The allowance paid in these cases will also be up to R$ 1,212, as the minimum wage valid in the year of withdrawal will be considered in the calculation, according to law 7,998/1990.

The worker who considers he is entitled to the PIS/Pasep allowance, but has not entered the payment list, can file an appeal with the government. According to the ministry, it is necessary to access the gov.br website and fill out a form with the requested information. The form can be accessed by clicking here. This is the procedure required for those who did not receive the allowance for 2019 or 2020.

In the form you must inform:

• CPF number
• full name
• email
• telephone
• state where you live
• in the subject field, indicate the item “7 – RAIS/Salary Allowance”
• in the message field, inform the reason for the allowance appeal request

Workers who do not have internet access can call Alô Trabalho (on 158). After the personal identification procedure, the attendant will fill in the form. The estimated average time for requests to release salary allowances is 45 days, according to the ministry.
