Angèle: The Belgian Miracle Girl became a documentary on Netflix

by

You logically belong to one of the following 3 categories: Either you listen to Angèle from the very first album and you support her music, or you learned her through the Fever she sang with Dua Lipa, or you did not even know her existence until today. Anyway, through the Netflix documentary of the same name, Angèle has the opportunity to tell her story and be re-introduced, right this time.

Angèle opened her old diaries to remember how many thoughts she had at the beginning of her career

It is the same case of a “star” who was found very suddenly on the highest pedestal and from there on everything did not go smoothly. In the trailer of the documentary we watch two very important periods for her. The first was when a photo of her was used against her will in a Playboy tribute. The photo was taken a long time ago, however the result did not satisfy Angèle. And while they and the magazine’s editors had agreed not to use this photo, they ultimately broke that agreement. Even when Angèle decided to make her come out with an Instagram post, she later had to deal with the comments and criticism of her audience.

For a long time, she felt that she had lost herself. The image of the “celebrity” was built, but the real Angèle was lost in it. She does not know if this is due to her young age or what was happening around her, but now she can understand it more clearly. She had some traumatic experiences and shortly before the release of her new album she chose to share them with those who care to listen to them.

For Angèle, making the documentary was a “healing” process

The same goes for her songs. Whenever she does not feel herself, she chooses to transfer it to her art as well. The idea for the next album came in quarantine. The idea for the documentary was something she did not even have in mind. However, both worked flawlessly together to bring about the coveted inner peace.

At the same time, she is not only involved in music. She recently appeared in the movie Annette and walked the red carpet in Cannes with Marion Cotillard and Adam Driver. We will soon see her in the new movie from the Asterix and Obelix franchise, directed by Guillaume Canet.

Until then, you have the opportunity to get to know her a little better through her documentary, which will be released on Netflix on November 26.
