Roberto Carlos has a broken-down car in Rio due to lack of gasoline

by

Roberto Carlos, 80, is people like us. Let the images that circulated on the internet this Monday (22) say. In them, it is possible to see the singer with his car stopped for lack of gas in the heart of Rio de Janeiro.

The “king” was on his way to the studio where he is rehearsing Globo’s year-end special, which he will resume this year after two years. However, the car broke down while he was still in Urca, a neighborhood in the south of Rio de Janeiro where he lives.

According to his press office, Roberto Carlos forgot to ask for the vehicle to be refueled and did not realize that the gas needle was on the reserve. That would have been because he hadn’t used the car, a red Audi TT, for many months.

Roberto was quite isolated during the pandemic — with very few exceptions he did not leave his house. To get vaccinated, one of his few recent outings, he was in another car, the same model, but blue.

Luckily, he was soon rescued. “Whenever he goes out, he has a support car with security guards,” his staff said. “He moved to the security car that took him to the studio, and then they went to retrieve the car.”

Even so, the scenes went viral and made Internet users happy. Many joked about the fact that gasoline was so expensive that not even the “king” was exempt from not being able to refuel the car.
