What foods to include in your diet to reduce cellulite

by

THE cellulite is one of those “persistent problems” that concerns almost every woman and in fact, it affects up to 98% of us, regardless of body weight.

So what is cellulite and where is it caused?

THE cellulitealso known as adipose tissue edemasimply refers to deposits of fat under your skin, pressing on the connective tissue. The causes can range from:

  • Hormonal changes
  • Unbalanced diet
  • Sedentary life
  • Age
  • Genetic predisposition

Is there a cure?

Although there is no miracle cure, there are definitely some top foods that, if consumed in conjunction with a balanced diet and daily exercise, can help reduce the appearance of these annoying pits.

Include the following foods in your diet and significantly improve the appearance of your skin.

Berries

Dark fruit varieties such as blackberries and blueberries enhance collagen production, encouraging the growth of new skin tissue, and this improves skin texture and tone. Berries also have antioxidants, which can reduce inflammation, which makes cellulite more visible. Eating these foods can also help prevent signs of aging, such as dryness and wrinkles. In general, the consumption of fruits and vegetables, raw and fresh, offers more antioxidants than cooked. So you can add them to your yogurt, your porridge but also consume them with a few nuts as a snack.

· Grapefruit

When it comes to foods that reduce cellulite, grapefruit is a delicious little hero! Red-pink grapefruit, in particular, is rich in antioxidants such as lycopene, which not only help improve blood circulation and normalize cellulite over time, but can also correct cellular imbalances that lead to cellulite. You can consume it

as a fruit or to make a juice, and add ginger, cinnamon or turmeric, depending on the taste you prefer. It is definitely a super-antioxidant juice!

· Salmon

Eating salmon — and other fatty fish such as mackerel, tuna, and trout — will improve the overall condition and appearance of your skin, all thanks to the high levels of omega-3 fatty acids, known as good fats, which help reduction of inflammation. Sure, you can include fatty fish once or twice a week in your diet, accompanying it with your favorite grilled vegetables.

· Avocado

For avocado lovers, the news is very good! Avocados are rich in good fats and fiber. Fiber helps the body balance glucose levels and eliminate toxins that form cellulite resulting in visibly improving your skin! If you do not like raw avocado or your salad, try adding it to a smoothie or dessert – of course without added sugar!

Flaxseed

Flaxseed is a leading vegetarian source of omega 3 fatty acids, and contains lignans, a type of phytoestrogen that has been shown to balance estrogen levels, which appear to play a role in cellulite development. Add a tablespoon of ground flaxseed to smoothies, soups and salads. Extra tip: Store flaxseed in the refrigerator in an airtight container, for up to a year, to retain its sensitive oils, which can be damaged by heat, light and oxygen.

· Cayenne and Chili Pepper

These are powerful anti-cellulite weapons, and you probably already know that. The reason is capsaicin, which is found in the inner walls of chili and other hot peppers. Capsaicin stimulates the body’s metabolism and reduces inflammation, thus helping to assimilate nutrients. Use it in place of salt, which can worsen the condition of cellulite by promoting cellular water retention and reducing bloating.

· Green Tea & Matcha Tea

Consuming green tea along with a healthy and balanced diet can speed up metabolism and even support weight loss according to various studies. There are also some studies that show that the antioxidants in green tea, called catechins, can help reduce the breakdown of collagen by eliminating the annoying pits of cellulite!

At the same time, Matcha, a type of green tea, is also rich in catechins, with the difference that some studies have shown that a cup of matcha has up to 137 times more antioxidants than regular green tea!

· Green Leafy Vegetables

Last but not least, vegetables like kale and spinach have magnesium and fiber. These two are full of lutein and zeaxanthin, which help protect and hydrate skin cells and keep skin damage away. Try them in salads, smoothies, but also in your omelette and you will remember me!

Clearly, now you are wondering, are all these foods enough to reduce cellulite ?! I will answer you honestly, of course not. The magic weapon in the fight against cellulite – if we assume that it exists – is multifactorial. That is, if you want to reduce cellulite and visibly improve its signs, a few foods are not enough, but you also need:

  • Systematic exercise
  • Continuous hydration
  • Avoid smoking and alcohol
  • and of course stay away from sugar and fatty calorie foods

Finally, I remind you, before you start to look intensely and nervously at your body in the mirror and put it to yourself, that all women have cellulite, to a greater or lesser degree, visible or not, and this is perfectly normal. Learn to love you with all your signs!
